8/15/15 What Powerlifting has Taught Me

Today I spent relaxing, watching some YouTube and just enjoying the day with my family and friends. I got into a conversation about how powerlifting has changed my view point on other aspects in my life from academics to relationships. Here’s a few things powerlifting taught me
1)Consistency is Key- whether it’s school work or lifting, doing things consistently is how to become better at them. I figured out if I train my brain the same way I train for powerlifting I can reach all my academic goals.
2) Failure Will Happen – I’ve failed a lot, from missing numbers in the gym to not achieving the grades I wanted on the SAT. The only thing you can do is focus on the future and work harder towards your goals. Failure will make your success feel even greater.
3) Never Give Up- There have been many points when I’ve felt too overwhelmed by what’s going on in life. Having stress from school work and studying to being frustrated with training. This goes back to point 1, being consistent is key. I know deep down if I keep going past my limits, even though it might hurt now, that in the future it will pay off.
